Setting up and running a business as an independent geo-professional is, in many respects, no different from the approach operated by any larger organisation. There are typically the same issues of risk management and loss prevention for any organisation which are referred to in the various guidance documentation issued by the AGS and other bodies. There are particular issues relevant to the independent practitioner, however, and other concerns which need to be sufficiently considered and adequately dealt with if an independent geo-professional is to succeed in the current situation.
